Students acquire artistic craft, marketing and advertising skills. Our school provides them with knowledge in the sphere of advertising graphic art, conceptual creation of advertising campaign, graphic lay-out of printed matters and other commercial projects students can come across in graphic studios, advertisement agencies, as a graphic designer, art director or as an entrepreneur. The aim is that the students succeed at admission exams to universities and colleges as well as in their individual creative careers.

Visual communication has become the major device of graphic design as well as the key concept in marketing and advertisement. Its objective is to develop students´ intellect and their ability to express themselves in the framework of artistic symbols. For a company aimed to be successful a visual communication specialist is essential – from logograph creation through unified company style to services or products which need to be “appropriately wrapped” and subsequently retailed.

Distribution Of The Graphic Design Programme

The educational programme is evenly distributed within the whole study.
In lower grades we start by acquiring craft skills – students draw and paint in a realistic manner, they master portrayal, perspective and structure, learn to express their ideas by means of stylization – graphic symbols. They achieve basic technological skills, e.g. work with PC, paper or printing techniques.
In the third grade students are given a choice of seminars which help them specialize according to their own interest (web design, 3D graphics, Flash and animation, prepress preparation, basics of photography, etc.).
In final grades elementary art training is followed by realization of given tasks as well as students´ own designs using graphic software. Art training is conducted in computer labs, art studios and graphic workshops.
Projects are chosen to utmost coincide with reality and at the same time develop one´s natural creativity. Students are led to independence under professional supervision. Each term is completed by a series of closure works which form a display of achieved skills, individual abilities and creativity.
In the period of 1. 9. 2006 - 31. 8. 2008 Modernization and digitalization of the propagation graphics field took place in the frame of a European Union project and financial contribution of the ESF, EU state budget and the capital city of Prague budget. Partners of the project are Tomos Praha a.s., Svoboda Praha a.s., Sigit, s. r. o. and Perth College Scotland.
